:: Myself

Dr. Michael Solomon is a well respected Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in hip and knee surgery. He has a particular interest in arthritis surgery of the hip and knee as well as conservative hip surgery to help prevent the development of hip arthritis.

He completed his Orthopaedic training in Sydney and spent time thereafter in the USA and England completing a fellowship in hip and knee surgery. He returned to Sydney in 1997 and commenced specialist practice. He has performed over 2000 hip and knee replacements and is recognized as a leader in this field both in Australia and Internationally. He has been invited to lecture and teach in Australia, USA, Canada, England and many Asian countries and has co-authored numerous publications.

Dr Solomon's interest in hip surgery spans both the adult, teenager and paediatric age group. He is well-known for his expertise in the treatment of hip disorders in children, complex hip surgery, pelvic osteotomies and primary and revision joint replacement surgery.

Dr. Solomon established the Sydney Orthopaedic Specialists Group in the year 2000.

Has had specific training in the technique of the BIRMINGHAM HIP RESURFACING REPLACEMENT.
This form of hip replacement offers a more conservative bone sparing approach to joint replacement of the hip in the younger more active patient with hip arthritis.
